My toddler eats and eats and eats!
Update: we have lentils three times a week, beans, chickpeas, fish and chicken.
She can easily eat 200 gram of chicken.
I never had a food obsession, neither my husband. We are both quite thin and sporty.
In both of our families we have overweight ppl with a lot of diseases.
I got so funny as people comment on it.
Her doctor recommended a nutritionist as she is overweight.
She war already as a baby above 97 percentile. Now she is around the 90 percentile. So she is kind of slimming out?
But out doc does not have a clear instruction on what to do. He says it is possible she looses it if we watch her.
I think she picked up this behaviour at the nursery as she eats there that much. She tells me off for not finishing my plate. I said it is alright to leave leftovers.
I never tell her that she is big! But people around us do. That hurts so much. I always encourage her and tell her she is perfect the way she is and how great she is doing.
Obesity is a dangerous disease as it brings a lot of other problems. I am just worried about my Babygirl.
I am also not starving myself.
I just don’t know what to do as I hear so many different opinions.
—————
My toddler is nearly three years old and quite big for her age.
We brought her up sugar free and we don’t have treats at home. I cool fresh every day and we have lots of veggies and fruit.
But my daughter just eats tons! It is getting out of control. It’s not a growth spout as she is eating like this since forever.
She goes to nursery. She gets breakfast at home, second breakfast/snack at nursery, lunch at nursery, afternoon snack at nursery, dinner at home.
Sometimes she eats 8 half rolls as second breakfast in nursery! She always has three portions for lunch! And three portions for afternoon snack.
Every time I am with people they comment on how much she eats.
I don’t know what to do. If I leave her hungry I do feel very bad.
The worst is I bottle feed her as my milk wasn’t enough and she was loosing weight for the first 2 weeks. I tried to bring her up as “natural” as possible and gave her a milk every time she “asked” for it. Unfortunately I overfeed her! I do know now! She wasn’t always hungry! Sometimes she was just tired or upset! She had a night time bottle until she was two!
I already went to a nutritionist! She said I should write down for two weeks what she is eating and optimise the diet! Which is crazy as we eat so healthy! She said I should cut out bananas and other high calorie healthy foods.
I am out with her every day for several hours. I lost a lot of weight as I try really hard not to eat to much in front of her.
I am really afraid she might turn into an obese adult. All the diseases which can occur.
My two main issues:
- I feel so guilty for over feeding my little girl! I will never forgive myself if she gets sick because of me :(
- I don’t know what to do and how to handle this situation!
