Would i be the ah to ask a stranger to swit h zeats so i can sit next to my daughter in the flight?

In a few days, my daughter (4) and i will fly from alaska to singapore. There will be 3 segments of the journey. On each of the segments, we will he seated together except the last one, japan to singapore, 7 hours. Despite making the booki g months and months out, we couldn't get seats that were together for the last flight. She will be in the aisle seat, with a stranger to her right by the window (2- 4-2 seat configurstion) and i wil be across the aisle with 3 strangers to my left. Ive been in touch with the airlines and they will move my seats togethrr as soon as something opens up but have asked that i just ask the other passenger to trade. Another flight is not possible due to it being an international flight with not that many options avakiable in the time frame needed.
