2 month old not sleeping

our now two month old never sleeps. online i’m constantly reading how newborns sleep 17-29 hours a day and he MAYBE sleeps 9-12 if we’re lucky. i try to keep the house relaxing and calm for him, no super loud stimulation except for rain sounds at times for background noise but nothing will get him to sleep during the day. i’ve tried

swaddling, except now he’s too big for swaddles

pacifiers, he spits out

walking/carrying/rocking/singing, works until you set him down

bottle, refuses when he’s full and doesn’t want more anyway

mommaroo, he’s awake in and will sit but start crying

‘cry it out’ - 20 minutes and he’s still going (this was a last resort)

car rides work most of the time but once you’re home he wakes back up again

his diaper is fine, he’s fed, he’s been awake for 8~ hours now, sleeping 3.5 hours total from midnight to 4pm. has anyone else experienced this? what helped you? do they grow out of it?
