WA state help? Maybe legal help?
Long story bare with me please i just need some advice…
Okay so as far as i know last july a law changed in the state of Washington where no law enforcement can involuntarily take anyone for psychiatric evaluation even if they are a threat to themselves or others. (They can arrest them if theres a domestic violence or something like that but not actually take them for psychiatric evaluation)
My husband of 9 years suffers from a mental illness. He has ups and downs but when he is going through “an episode” he is a completely different person to me and my children, he refuses to believe he has a mental illness and he refuses medical treatment/medication.
My question is how can i go and find resources to get him help? I really don’t know what to do. He listens to no voice of reason, he is irrational and delusional and i don’t want or daughters to see him like that and suffer because of something he can’t help. How can i get him the help that he needs? Or should i just leave with my daughters? We have a house we are financially tied and I’m afraid if i leave he will blow our money and damage my credit.
Any advice? Where can i go for resources?
