Underweight
I apologize beforehand, this post is a bit long. I just wanted to put as much detail as I could, but I hope it's not too too long lol.
Hey...first post in Glow so far...is there anyone out there trying to gain weight instead of lose it?
I've never been able to gain weight, I'm not sure why. I've never had an ED or anything...I got made fun of when I was younger, called a "stick" and whatnot...I've seen a dietitian/nutritionist and that didn't help.
All they really told me was to add more calories to my diet. So choose full-fat things when I can, or add mayo or margarine to a sandwich instead of not, or using milk instead of water when making oatmeal...nothing works.
I'm 24 years old and I'm 4"11, and back in 2020 I was only 82 lbs. I didn't want to be. I tried eating 3 healthy meals a day, and ate until I was full and couldn't anymore, and tried everything my dietitian said to do in regards to adding calories...the only thing that made me gain weight was getting pregnant, and I was able to get up to 100 lbs. That was last year. Now I'm back down to 90 lbs.
I haven't actively been trying to lose weight or anything and it's not that I don't eat...and I have asthma, so it's not exactly like I'm out there running marathons lol.
(Also kinda related to this: since giving birth I have a ton of extra skin/fat JUST on my belly. Apparently that's the only place I can gain weight lol. I want to burn that off but I'm scared to, in case it just makes me lose weight all over and makes me even more underweight..)
I just don't understand why I can't gain anything. Anyone else have a similar issue? Or are you just trying to gain weight? What's working for you?
