First ultrasound, dates off or bad sign??

Had my first ultrasound today thinking I was 7+1 based off my LMP (5/3). But doctor said it was more like 6+6 and my scan showed a gs measuring 3mm consistent with 5 weeks and that’s all :-( he started throwing the miscarriage word around and now I’m freaked out thinking I may lose this or maybe there wasn’t anything to begin with. Anyone have this situation happen or have dates be this off?? Sos 😭

I’m confused how they said you’re measuring 6+6 but the gs is 5 weeks? Does that mean the baby is growing around 6+6 but the sac is not catching up? 
But 7+1 to 6+6 is not a big difference so I wouldn’t worry about that part! My second baby measured 8+2 when I was 8+6 and he was born a perfect size at 40+2! My due date was not changed based on the 4 day difference

Last week I was supposed to be 7 weeks and nothing showed up on the ultrasound so my dr said it was possible blighted ovum and I went back today for another ultrasound…BABY!! I was just earlier than expected and couldn’t be seen yet on ultrasound. Keep your head up but mentally prepare yourself for either outcome. Praying for you and baby! ❤️

My first ultrasound with my daughter I should have been 8 weeks by my last period, but all there was, was a gestational sac measuring 5 weeks.
Again with my son I should have been 8 weeks by my last period, but was only 6 weeks 1 day.

So I was pregnant twice - 1st pregnancy my baby was measuring 3 weeks off and that ended in a missed miscarriage at 13 weeks due to trisonomy 18. My 2nd baby, my rainbow baby girl was measuring a week behind until 15-16 weeks if I remember correctly and after that she was laways measuring 2 weeks ahead. It doesn't always mean a miscarriage, it can also mean that you ovulated late and also scans so early on in pregnancy are almost always off. When is your next scan?
