IUD COPPER SPOTTING AND LIGHT BLEEDING

I had my IUD copper in for a year. All 11 months the flow was heavy and it lasted at least 7-10 days. This month my cycle came on the 20th. It was spotting on the 20th and then the 21st and 22nd it was light and red, pink and brownish flow the 24 it stopped all day and then the by night time it picked up again but only at a light flow. I took a test yesterday and it was negative. Has this ever happen to any of you ladies that have the IUD copper! I just thought the flow was strange vs. the last 11 months. I do have an appointment to see my gynecologist next week on Wednesday.
