Help!! Baby is sick and husband is mad

Guys quick! What do I do! My 18 month old is staying with our aunt for the night and she called this evening because his fever is over 101. Our neighbors invited us to a gathering tonight and my husband and I planned on a date night and sleep and we’d pick our baby up the next day. Auntie wants to bring 18 month old to in n out tonight for dinner (a little weird to me when he’s sick but whatever) and said she could watch him while we go to the gathering or I can pick him up after. She is SO sweet so I know she’s trying to be accommodating and support our date night. I opted to pick him up right away. I mean he’s sick and he should be with mommy right? How could I relax out and socialize when my baby has a fever and is super hot to the touch and just wants cuddles. I told my hubby and is isn’t happy. He wanted to show up for this gathering out of principle because he said he would and he won’t come with me to pick up our son because he’s been waiting all day to take a bath and he’s just saying it in a man tantrum way! Am I doing the right thing? I mean I’d love to have a date night but we have a child and it’s not always going to be roses and puppy dogs! I don’t want him to be sick but he is and we have to step up! I’m so upset that he’s upset like bothered because it’s inconvenient
