Is anyone thinking about homeschool?

Yes! It’s all dependent on when we move and where we move, but it’s an option that we’ve been toying with. I’d like to control what they’re learning and how they’re learning during these younger years (not so much worried about when they’re older) because I’m not a fan of how the education system in America is set up. Children shouldn’t be made to sit at desks all day long except for a brief recess period- it’s not how they learn best. Play based learning and being hands on is critical to their development. I would also sign them up for some sort of after-school activity in conjunction with home schooling though to make sure they’re getting to socialize as well.

I have homeschooled my older 2 for the past 2 years but I’ll be going back to work in a year so unless I can afford to quit then it won’t be possible but I wish I could

My husband and his twin were homeschooled & I’m definitely considering it at least for the first couple of years maybe elementary aged maybe more. My husband went all through all grades and “graduated” from high school home school before going to college.

We are obviously in the UK so aria starts pre school this September and actual school next September. She will go to the same 'public' school as her sister and we love it. If we lived in the US I would do everything I could to homeschool. I really struggle with the idea of so many people casually walking round with guns

I've definitely pondered the idea of homeschooling, not only because of the fear of school shootings but also because my oldest also goes to school and the illnesses/viruses will just keep rolling in. I realize although school shootings do happen 💔, it's extremely rare and I don't want myself or my family to live in fear of people or germs. Plus, it'll help build their immune systems to be in school. We wish so badly that we could afford private school for our kids, but it's just not financially an option for the time being. It came down to the thought of my children deserve the full school, student-teacher/social and friendship experience, not to mention field trips, field day, holiday activities/parties, etc. My girls are both super social, and I know it would be miserable for them to be home with me homeschooling them all year. They would long for the public school experience, and I don't want to take that away from them out of fear. My oldest will be starting school as usual in early August. Her first day of fourth grade will actually be my birthday lol. Ellie will begin schooling (pre-k) next year. It'll be difficult and scary to let them go, but I know in the long run she'll enjoy public schooling and it's what's best for our family.

I hit Public school but we are looking into private school.

With the most recent school shooting and how the cops didn't do much for too long, I'm considering private school. BUT I live in California and schools are pretty locked down out here regardless. But I've noticed the private schools are even more locked down so I've been considering it. I don't want to homeschool because I still want my child to get the full experience. He goes to preschool right now and loves going, I would hate to take that away from him.

I want to but my husband isn’t up for it. He thinks I’m just wanting to keep our son in a glass box 🫠
