Am I wrong?

With this being my 2nd baby boy my mom said “you know you’re not getting a baby shower right?” Which I had my 1st during Covid and didn’t even get one with him so I don’t think it would be crazy for me to have one BUT I obviously don’t expect or will plan one. I said “yeah absolutely I know” then she proceeds to tell me that she’s planning herself a “grandma baby shower” and was really hurt no one planned on for her for the 1st baby. She wants me and my son to be there to celebrate her as she opens presents for MY baby for her house. I think this is crazy and so selfish but I haven’t said so yet because I’m not really sure what to do. Should I just let it go and let her have it?

I have never heard of a “grandma baby shower”. That’s just ridiculous. And to be hurt that no one planned this thing (that isn’t even an actual thing) for her during a global pandemic when you didn’t even get a shower is beyond petty. Combine that with the fact that she doesn’t think you should have a shower but she somehow deserves one? This is all kinds of weird and not normal. Sounds like she just wants to be the center of attention and resents that she isn’t.

Have a second baby shower. And no, I wouldn’t go to grandma baby shower especially if she told you that you don’t get another shower with the second baby.

Wtf? A grandma shower -  no ma’am! And lots of women have baby showers or baby sprinkles for each pregnancy. Throw one for yourself or have a friend do it.

Very weird… especially since it’s not her first grandchild (!?) Some people may want to get gifts so still make registry or tell them diapers but would not have second shower personally

Wow, she sounds like my ex mother in law 😆. Since you didn't really get a shower for your first I'd definitely say it would be acceptable to have one now. A grandma shower is just ridiculous 🙄. I feel like she would be the type to announce all your baby info on social media before you get a chance to or even decide what info to put out.

I think it’s a stupid idea. You’re the one having the baby not her. If you want a baby shower do your own baby shower. There’s no written rule for how many you can have.

That’s sounds so weird 😂😂 you should be having one or something regardless! 
If I have another boy I have said I’d have a lunch or afternoon tea just to celebrate baby, then if they want to buy me something it’s up to them as I already had one so don’t expect to buy stuff when they did with the first boy as I have all the stuff. If it’s a girl then I may do something different but my mum would never expect anything like that for her 🤷🏻‍♀️

You know what? Stop it! You've fixed your mind to tell you that you shouldn't have a baby shower and that you don't deserve one because of your mother. Stop gaslighting yourself. Advocate for yourself! It is extremely selfish of her to tell you that you shouldn't expect a baby shower, but that you're expected to be at this unconventional grandma shower that she has dreamed up. Feel free to tell her about herself, regardless of it she's your mother. That is not ok! ❤️🙏🏽
