Hi everyone,

Is it normal for my 1 month old to turn bright red and scream in pain when he tries to pass gas or poop? He wasn’t doing that until 4 days ago, we didn’t change his formula (he has been eating enfamil neuropro gentlease since he was born)

I know he has to « learn » how to correctly poop and that passing gas may be tough, I went to my pediatrician (who unfortunately wasn’t there so I saw another doctor) who recommended to add 2 teaspoons of prune juice morning and evening to his bottle but he is not constipated, he just has a hard time pooping, so I’m afraid to do what he said because I donner want to create another issue by doing the wrong thing.

I gave him gripe water and gas drops but doesn’t really seem to help (he just seems to like the tastes lol) but the fact he really really is in pain scares me like crazy and breaks my heart.

Is it really normal to see your baby in such pain, crying in pain and getting super angry when he tries to pass gas or poop?
