Gentian violet questions for thrush

Okay I'm using gentian violet to treat my babies thrush because we have done EVERYTHING possible to get rid of it and nothings worked.

I exclusively pump. I put it on my nipples to see if I have thrush. I've heard if it wipes off easily you don't have thrush but if it's hard to wipe off you have it. Mine was hard to wipe off. I wasn't even able to get all the stain off. Is it safe for me to use the milk I just pumped after putting the gentian violet on?
