How much would you pay for a hand-crochet baby blanket?

Working on this baby blanket and plan on selling it and have no clue what I should price it for. It’s taken 3 1/2 hours so far. I don’t wanna ask too much but also it’s hand made and takes time and cannot be duplicated by a machine! So I just wanna see what ballpark you guys would be in to get an idea of what I’ll list it for. Thanks in advance ♥️

I think at least $100. Whoever buys it should understand how much time and effort goes into  making a handmade blanket!

Depending on the size, I wouldn’t go less than about $30. As you said, they aren’t just paying for materials used, they’re paying for your time as well.  Look on Etsy to get some good ideas what afghans are priced at!

I'm not quier sure about what the size is but if it's the average size of a baby blanket then I'd say around 75$. Hand made blankets are quiet popular with a certain kind of people. I'm sure you'd have no problem selling them at that price if you can find the right customers. Also it looks so cute! I'd definitely want one for me!

You have a ways to go and it’s already taken over 3 hours of your time, so if I were you I would not charge any less than 60. I also crochet, and the main reason I won’t sell my work is because of how much time it eats up and how few people are willing to pay a fair amount for the time/labor involved.

I follow a knitting group on Facebook and most people there take: the price of the yarn + a set price (usually around 1000nok so $90 for a knitted sweater, less for a blanket without any special pattern or techniques)

Depends on size and type of yarn to me. A small blanket made with cheap acrylic yarn it would be different than a  slighrly bigger one made with a high quality soft wool or alpaca yarn. I'd price out materials then add a cost on per hour for your time. It won't be a main business so hopefully those who know the difference in quality will understand. But if tou have a general formula also it makes it easier when people question it. You can say "materials cost X and I cost out X amount per hour of work which fornthis blanket makes it X final amount." Often times if people know why they are paying an amount instead of thinking someone is just trying to get as much as they can out of people they understand more

Charge for labor time plus cost of materials. I made a baby blanket for my cousins baby and it took me about 10-15 hours and cost $30 in materials. If I had sold it, I would’ve sold for at least $200. Handmade items aren’t cheap.

Back in 2019 i had a simple 2 color small baby blanket made for my nephew with his name on it, i believe i paid around $75 for it if my memory doesn't fail.
