Bassinet thoughts?

What are your thoughts on bassinets? First time momma and I'm wondering is it a life saver or waste of money?

I liked being able to pull the bassinet right next to my side of the bed with my first. He stayed in it until he outgrew it. I will be buying another one for baby #2.

I for sure used mine. It’s helpful if you have a small space. I have the arms reach co sleeper that I bought used. For sure buy used if you can! 
If I had more space, I would’ve just gotten a nicer pack n play that had a bassinet or higher up option. That way it can grow with baby instead of a bassinet which they’ll probably grow out of before 6 months

Definitely life saver if you’re afraid of co sleeping like myself. Make sure you get one with a vibrating setting! It’s a lifesaver for gassy babies!

I would get one for sure if you plan on room sharing for the first few months (or more). For me it made night wakings less difficult, I had the bassinet pulled up to the bed, when the baby wakes you just sit up and nurse or if not nursing you can have a bottle ready at your bedside.

I had a bassinet with my first and it was ideal as I could pull it close to the bed and rock it when baby was needing resettling. I've bought a cosleeper bassinet this time so I don't have to get fully up to check on baby in the night, they'll be right there. I couldn't fit a cot in our room so a bassinet means they'll be in the same room as us for atleast the first 6 months

We used it with our daughter for the first 6 months! It was the best having her right next to me. Will be doing it again for 6 months with this babe too.

We used it for the first 6 months in our room next to our bed so I  could get to baby quicker. Love having a bassinet! All three babies.

Got one for my 1st and he hated it so we got rid of it and didn't try with the next. We used an ikea sniglar as a sidecar cosleeper after we ditched the bassinet and used that for #1 and #2 until they were 18 months and plan on using it for #3.
