Dentist visit and stopping fingers in mouth

M

We went to our first dental visit for our 2 year old daughter today! Lol she tried to get away almost the whole time. Except when they did the water. Plus side no cavities and little to no plaque build up (the dentist did a manual and visual exam for this visit). My insistence on no added sugars for her is paying off!

My daughter sucks her pointer and middle finger but so far it has had zero effects on her mouth. So we will continue to do everything we can to get her to stop so that it doesn't permanently effect her. we already started bandages on fingers a couple months before....gonna continue that. Probably get the device for the hand, and then got approval for the nail polish. I sucked my thumb as a child until age 4 and it 100% cause permanent damage to my mouth that 5+ years of orthodontics didn't completely fix. So I really want to save her from that fate.

What was most helpful to get your child off of finger sucking?
