Thoughts on the name Gilbert?

My husband for some reason loves the name Gilbert for our baby. I can't stand it. What are your opinions?

My opinion is don't name your child something one parent hates 🙃

I personally love it, because it reminds be of one of my all time favorite series, Anne of Green Gables (The original series though, not the one on Netflix). Gilbert's character is handsome, genuine, and intelligent. Also, the name Gilbert is not one you hear every day. It's unique but not out there in any way, which is always nice and refreshing x

I really like it but as someone who caved and named BOTH kids something she didn't like because my spouse was picky DONT DO IT. Compromise with it as a middle of he's set on it. You'll remember it every time you say the name.

Maybe as a middle name? But I personally wouldn't have it as a first name (kids are cruel and they'd have a field day) but also not keen on using a base my partner wouldn't like!
