Baby welcome party

Is any one else doing a baby celebration after the baby arrives instead of a baby shower before hand? I’ve been asked by a couple of people if we will be having a baby shower before baby arrives. But we’ve decided not to since this is baby number 3 and also girl number 2 in 14 months. So my youngest can wear her big sisters clothes from last year. We also have a crib already and everything else we need for this baby upon arrival. The only thing that will be needed is diapers and wipes when the baby comes. To me, having a party after she is here makes more sense for now. We are having her and her big sister dedicated to the church we go to in October when she is 6 weeks old or older to be safe. We will have a party afterwards. Does that seem reasonable?
