Boy mamas. Is a teddy a girl's toy?

So I have this teddy I bought my son when I found out I was pregnant. It's his only teddy. Says my first teddy and I think it is cute. It's always in his bed and he knows it's his. He doesn't play with it much but he knows he sleeps with it. Of recent, my husband took over sleep routine and yesterday, my son asked for his teddy and the father said "it's for girls". Immediately I told him it ain't. He said in this environment he can't be so cuddly or they will tell him he is a girl. Personally I feel if I tell my son teddy is for girls and it ain't ok for boys to play with a teddy, I will put it in him that probably he is a girl since he likes it. I want him to know it is ok for boys to love teddy bears.

Now this is the bear in qn

What!!!! No! In fact this is Jesse’s bed and he has to have them all in order. This makes me so sad. There’s nothing wrong with teaching little boys it’s okay to cuddle and nurture. There’s no such thing as gender specific toys.

Toys are toys, meant to be played with by anyone who wants to play/snuggle with them. This way of thinking is archaic.

My metalhead bodybuilding 28 year old male cousin still has a teddy that looks just like that in his bedroom 🤷‍♀️ and a blanket lol

I knew you were gonna get all the woke-dont-gender-roll-your-kid comments haha ... But not from me though. From a non-woke-men-are-men-women-are-women standpoint.. staffed animals aren't boyish or girly. Unless it was like, a pink animal with a tootoo or something like that

Depriving your child of play can hinder their development. There’s a difference between masculinity and toxic masculinity- and what you’re suggesting is what leads boys into the latter. But okay.

Yikes! Logan doesn’t leave the house without puppy or lovey! I think you need to give your husband a hug seems like he wasn’t loved enough as a kid

Ummmm 🚩 Divorce. JK, that’s dramatic. But screw that way of thinking. Not okay. People that think that way make me sick.

That’s sad he would say that to your son.My 13 year old son has had ‘doggy’ since he was a baby and he still sleeps with him and takes him overnight. He’s a very boy-ish boy!
