He’s saying my IUD cut his penis?

I’ve had my IUD for a few years now and I’ve had different partners that this never happened too. 
The other night when I had sex with my boyfriend, he came out of the bathroom saying my IUD must have cut his penis. He showed me and yeah, it literally looks like a slice. He said he didn’t feel it until after. I don’t know what else could have caused this. There’s obviously nothing else in there that can do that besides an IUD string. 
I’m just confused because this has never ever happened. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Especially years in as the string has gotten softer?

My husband used to feel it sometimes and other times he didn't feel anything. When he first said he felt something cutting him, I went straight to my doctor to check if it's still in place and that everything is okay. It was, everything was fine. My doctor told me that it is normal and expected for him to feel it at times.

I got rid of mine because I kept injuring my partner the string was stabbing holes and cutting him pretty traumatic honestly

Have you had any cramping or weird side effects? It could have dislodged a little bit or slipped a little. 
Way back when i had mine a few years ago i was warned that my husband may be able to feel it during sex
