How long was you in early stage labor?

I've been contrating for over a week. A few days ago it was every 20 mins or so for hours then they take a break and start up again. Today they started at 10-15 mins apart and would take an hour break and start back up. But they hurt more today then they have been. There's alot of pressure but contrations have spread back out to around 20 mins. How long did you go through this before you went into active labor?

Sounds like you were going through Braxton Hicks. I’ve had them really intense for an entire three weeks already. Sometimes they even come at regular 10 minute intervals for hours and then they will just stop. It’s really frustrating because they feel like real contractions and wrap around my whole back and take my breath away but it’s just a waiting game!! Good luck x

I agree that it sounds like BH. Just because labor won’t stop once it’s started. It can slow down some but I’ve never heard of it taking a full on break. 
 I was in early labor for about 28 hrs, 6 hrs of active labor and 45 mins of pushing. I ended up taking an hour long nap and my contractions slowed to once every 10 mins but pushed baby out as soon and I woke up. All unmediated; I only mention that because medications slow down and extend active labor (except for pitocin of course).

You can be having contractions for days! If we are going off of contractions alone, I was for 3 or 4 days. Started off with "pinch-pain"  braxton hicks and then slowly became to be cramping pain, then Ouch pain.... And then the  "woke me out my sleep" pain lol. That's when I knew to call about it.
