Hcg fluctuating / rise

I have a history of recurring pregnancy loss and I’ve had 1 stillbirth in 2020. Loss is nothing new to me but with this pregnancy nothing has been like the last chemicals I’ve had.

July 5 i got my very first faint positive and beta came back at only 12.

Due to my history they had me come in 2 days later July 7 for a retest and 2nd beta came back at 23.

Because the number had almost doubled but still low, they had me wait 6 days before having another beta. So July 13 I had 3rd beta, came back at 39.

At that point i knew this pregnancy was not looking good, although it rose, it did not come close to doubling especially with it being 6 days in between betas. Later than night I started bleeding, bright red and clots so i assumed my period had arrived and i miscarried, i went on to bleed for 5 days so everything in my mind told me i had miscarried.

Well yesterday I went to my fertility clinic to get all my hormones checked to start my 4th iui. And to my surprise they called me back yesterday afternoon telling me I could not start my fertility treatment yet because I was still pregnancy and my Levels came back at 334! So now of course my head has gone down a spiral of thinking this could be ectopic but the ER could not confirm ectopic or not since nothing could be seen on ultrasound.

Has anyone had something similar? I know sporadic hcg isn’t a good sign but just looking for some insight.
