How soon postpartum can you go swimming?

I’m 2 weeks postpartum today, never even gave it a thought & got in the pool at my husbands aunts house after she offered to hold the baby for me so I could.

A friend who also just had a baby a week after me called while I was swimming so when I got out I called back, we were chatting & I had mentioned swimming today. She said her doctor told her she couldn’t swim until she was cleared at her 6 week checkup 😅

I just assumed because my bleeding has basically stopped (it’s more of random spotting 1-2 times a day) that I was good to go 😬 My doctor never said anything about swimming when I was discharged with baby…

Should I be okay or did I fuck up?🥲
