My mom gave us a house- husband says no now

My mom decided to move into the family cabin and wants to just give me and my husband & my daughter her house. It’s on about five acres and has 5 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. She’s currently remodeling it too. My husband was all for it and now all of a sudden he says he’s not moving there at all. Ummmm what. We have been wasting $800 in rent alone on a 2 bedroom townhouse- not including all the high utilities in this town. Moving to a house for NO rent and no mortgage and lesser utilities as it’s a more rural area— no brainer here. My child also goes to school in that area. His behavior is so odd I just question if he’s cheating on me with someone in our current city. He was just telling his family about the house last week and now is very stern saying no!
