First appointment

I am 8+2 and had my first doctor appointment today. Just with my GP (you don’t see an OB until 20 weeks where I live). All she did was give me requisitions for ultrasound and bloodwork and that’s it. Didn’t give me any info about medications I can take, foods to avoid, etc etc. I can do my own research but I found it very odd. She didn’t even weigh me or anything. Is that normal?
