Son keeps waking up. Tips, tricks?

My son is 11 months old. He is still breastfeeding. He wakes up about 1 time a night to nurse which I don’t mind. The one thing he’s doing now is waking up 3-4 times a night just because he wants cuddles, I try to offer him the breast he refuses and I put my breast away. He just wants to cuddle but I’m scared to death of him sleeping with me I want him safe in his crib. Oh man he gets so mad if I set him down back in his crib and he instantly falls asleep when I pick him up. I’ve never experienced this with my first child so it’s all new. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or similar stories if you would like to share. Thank you :)
