Doc told me no lip tie but I think they are wrong..??

Hello! 
I’m wondering if you all think she has a lip tie? From what I’m seeing online it looks like it would be a class 3 or 4 lip tie?! Doc has told me she doesn’t have a lip or tongue tie but I’ve just noticed this today and think they have been wrong and this might have been the issue to our struggles all along. We struggled with feeding and dribbling out milk. She hasn’t been able to take a pacifier. She has a constant lip blister. She is almost 5 Months and we’ve gone in a ton of times. She’s gaining weight so I think a lot of them ignore her mouth problems even though I try to say something doesn’t seem right. I just don’t want her to have problems with speech, solid foods, have a gap in her teeth, or be in any discomfort when eating.

Yes that is a lip tie. Doctors are not trained in assessing oral ties. Only an IBCLC or pediatric dentist are ones to diagnose those.

You need to see a pediatric dentist. When you call to make an appointment tell them "I want to get my son/daughter assesed for a lip tie"

It looks like one but just so you know my pediatric dentist said something like 50% of people have a tie somewhere in their mouth, and it’s estimated everyone who ever had braces has one. they don’t usually cause problems, people have had them for generations, and tie release surgery is really new. 
My baby has 3 and the dentist is an expert in her field in our area, known for only doing those procedures (like 6-7 a day) and still didn’t opt to cut them. 
Get baby evaluated again for peace of mind but don’t jump to conclusions about long term impacts until they happen! Especially if you’re not really experiencing issues with weight so far. I had to work with my baby a lot on taking a pacifier and feeding skills but everything is good now. Look up the post- release exercises and start those, that was the advice from my IBCLC and it worked on its own after like 2 weeks of them

That is a maxillary frenum, which is a normal anatomical structure. In the absence of a problem, there is no need for a frenotomy/frenectomy. The maxilla (upper jaw) grows downward and forward with age, so that structure will appear to “raise up” as baby grows. It is never a bad idea to have it evaluated by another provider if you have concerns about possible complications it could be causing, but the fact that she’s gaining weight well is a good sign. Yes my Daughter has tongue tie but I had to stop breastfeeding her because it caused my nipple to become sore and it did start to impact her weight because she stopped gaining weight no matter how much she ate . She stayed at a 10lb mark even at six months now her weight is just starting to catch up to her on her weight .

I took my son to the dentist and doctor and they both said since it’s “flexible” and not tight it’s no concern. His lip can move fine so they aren’t worried. The dentist said to just make sure I brush his teeth good and that they’ll clip it when it’s time for braces depending how his teeth come in (he has a gap right now) It doesn’t hurt to get a second opinion.

That's definitely a lip tie though it's not bad. A lactation consultant will tell you that. I personally decided to leave my child's lip tie because I wasn't comfortable with the procedure after speaking to the doctor. I ended up exclusively pumping when nursing became too difficult for my child.
There was never any speech issues infacty child spoke young and very well for her age. She never had any issues eating. She does have a gap BUT it may be genetic because a lot of people in my family have the gap as well. I'm not worried about a gap anyway. 
If the kid has a tie so bad you can't even pull the lip back or a tongue tie that is something to really worry about.
 Now that my child is older and has a dentist I'm more comfortable with the procedure and will have it done when she's ready because the dentist will use anesthetic....the procedure for an infant at least at the places where I looked into used NONE so I refused to do that.

Yes that’s a lip tie. They may not do anything about it now because it’s not affecting her as she’s gaining. My daughters have one. The dentists I took my oldest to when she was one when I noticed it said it wasn’t an issue and he wouldn’t do anything about it unless it effected her speech, eating etc. as sometimes if they correct it, it can just cause more issues down the line with adult teeth development and braces could be necessary. 
So I would see a LC or a dentist and see what they say as every lip tie and child are different.
