3 fetal poles

I had my first scan today. Measuring 7w3d. Everything looks good according to Dr. However he mentioned he found 3 fetal poles and wants to do another scan in 2weeks. At the time I was overwhelmed and didn't think to ask so does anyone know what this means? Is it normal to see 3 fetal poles for 1 baby or does it mean it's multiples?
