Gripe water vs gas drops

I have a very gassy, fussy baby who constantly gets hiccups and really bad gas no matter how much we burp him. We even bought special anti colic bottles and burp him very frequently. I’ve heard gripe water isn’t fda approved , but I know many parents that swear by the stuff. The gas drops I have was approved by my doctor to use but they don’t seem to help too much but we just started using them so hopefully we’ll see more results. Just wanted to hear everyone opinion on the pros and cons of each. I will call and ask my doctor about the gripe water I just forgot to ask Al about it at the last appointment
