9 month old needs a crib

Question

We’ve been co sleeping with my son (safely) since he was a new born. He just turned 9 months and he needs his own space as he is all over the bed. I need recommendations on a safe breathable mattress and a good size crib (my room is pretty small) I would appreciate if any of you helped me. Thanks.

The only name brand baby product that I recommend. 
They have full sized or mini crib size. The mini crib size should fit a playpen. 
A play pen would be a good option for limited space.

I would buy a full size crib/mattress, especially for a 9 month old. There are lots of nontoxic crib options available these days. We have an Oeuf crib, but I also love the brand Babyletto. IKEA is a cheaper nontoxic option that works great.
As far as a mattress being breathable, I always recommend using a waterproof mattress protector so that kind of defeats the purpose of a breathable mattress. We have a Colgate organic mattress, but if I were buying a new mattress right now I’d definitely buy a Naturepedic or Avocado mattress.

Cribs only come in standard and mini size. I’d definitely get a standard size, as he’ll outgrow a mini any day now. Any FIRM infant mattress is fine! Breathable is just a marketing term and doesn’t mean anything. 🙂
