Does your toddler wipe themselves ?

My sons gonna be 4 later this year and he’s been using the toilet for some time now. I’ve never had him wipe himself before. I never really thought about it or gave him the chance to wipe up in his own since he started so young. Just always did it. When should I start letting him? I honestly don’t mind it as long as he’s not using diapers anymore we good for now. I know he’ll probably have to know how by time he’s ready for school.

My 2.5yro wipes her own bum then I come and wipe after (just incase). It's teaching her to be independent and she mostly does a great job.

My son is 3 and he just recently started wiping himself. He refuses to let me do it but he always leaves poop in his butt so I wish he'd let me help. I have to chase after him and hold him down 😅

No, she’s just getting the hang of using the potty then we got Covid. She was falling asleep at any moment and having accidents so had to go back to diapers while she was sick. Now she’s well so we’re back to undies and she’s struggling to get back on board 🤦🏼‍♀️ hopefully it won’t take long…..thankfully we have a few more days of quarantine to get the hang of it.

My 3.5 year old wipes himself. Sometimes he will yell for me to clean him or come ask me
If his butt is clean. He wanted to do it, but it’s also a requirement for his preschool that he be potty trained which includes wiping himself.

My 4.5 year old has sensory issues so he just started to do it the past couple of months.

My 3.5 wipes after peeing but we are still struggling with her not being afraid to poop on the potty so we still wipe her after pooping. But she enjoys wiping herself and we just double check her after really quick

My son just turned 3. For the last 4 or so months, he's become more interested in wiping. He likes to wipe when he's not pooped but calls me to wipe him when he has. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'll probably start teaching him how to do it in the next few months. He'll start school just after he turns 4 (Sept '23) so I'll want him to know how to do it independently by then, but for now, I don't see the rush.

My son just turned 3, and he’s started exploding whipping his own butt on his own. There have been lots of poopy hands. I’m teaching him how to do it because…. I don’t want poop fingers anymore😂
