how will i know??

i know everyone says you just know when you’re in labor but my anxiety tells me i won’t know. i’ll be 36 weeks on monday and i’ve been experiencing pressure in my butt and period like cramping for a couple weeks but it’s not consistent so i don’t really feel concerned. did anyone have any symptoms leading up to the big day or was it just a shock?

I have 3 babies and had pre-labor since 35 weeks with all. I would always wonder “am i in labor” because of my constant contractions that would always stop after a few hours. They felt like intense Braxton Hicks. 
As for the pressure, that’s normal and a good sign baby is dropping lower into your pelvis. 
You’ll know when your in true labor when you’re having painful contractions coming in a pattern. You really will know when it’s real! True labor contractions are nooo joke!

Well, I'm also rounding out 36 weeks and I can relate to you. I had my "bloody show" almost 3 days ago. I've just been sitting around waiting for contractions to start. Sometimes I get crampy and lower back aches. Then I'll be fine for 5+ hours or so. Anxious is putting it mildly! Like, I just want to know already!!!

I disagree with "you will know when your in labor" mostly cause with my first I had a induction and definitely didn't know I was in active labor until I went in later that day to get checked and have a second dose of induction when then told me I was 7 cm dilated and my water hadn't broke as soon as my water was broke then I for sure knew I was in labor before that it just felt like painful period cramps but if and when your water breaks absolutely you will know from there it gets super painful

I had prodromal labor with my first for days but once those real contractions hit, I knew. They become consistent and painful to the point that you can't do anything but focus on getting through it. There really is no mistaking it

I was the same I literally couldn’t tell! Even though my  waters had broken I still couldn’t tell if I was in active labour or not. We decided to go be checked anyway and baby was born 18 minutes after we arrived 🙈😂

With my first I had regular BH right up until going into actual labor so I wasn’t sure what to expect either. With her my water broke first but I actually wasn’t feeling contractions. When I got to the hospital they said I was having pretty frequent contractions but I wasn’t feeling them at all which was funny to me after all the BH. But once I started to feel them they were definitely different and way more painful. To me it was like the worst period cramps ever but it wrapped all the way from front to back. It made me throw up almost instantly after the first one, and completely took my breath away.

I lost my mucus plug and then had blood show. It become very obvious.
