Please no judgment

My son is 7 months, he has no teeth yet but is meeting all milestones and then some. I introduced water to him but he doesn't drink it as much. I was wondering what I can feed him ? he LOVES Kiwi and watermelon. I try giving him things but if it's around my mom, she has a problem with it thinking he's going to choke and stuff. It gets annoying because IM HIS MOTHER. But I am also a first time mother who is new to everything so I don't know what to try. Any recommendations?
