Is this standard?

Question

I was told I would be having a c-section between 36/37 weeks. So that would be anywhere from tomorrow the 10th (36w0d), to the 23rd (37w6d). And nothing has been scheduled yet. I’ve had two office visits since this info was given and I told them I needed to get it scheduled so I can make arrangements for my two year old while my husband and I are in the hospital. I don’t go back into the office again until Thursday. I did send a message to follow up and was told it was forwarded to the doctor. I don’t want to be a pest  but I just feel like it should be scheduled by now. Thoughts?
UPDATE: I did not even have to follow up today! They called me as soon as the office opened to tell me that they have scheduled me for this coming Monday! Very nervous and excited!!

It may be different depending where you are but my office doesn’t schedule. The hospital schedules the week of or 24 hours in advance. They never know how many beds they will have available so it’s easier to schedule with very little notice.

In a similar situation, I was told I will be induced at 37 weeks, I’ll be 36 on Thursday and still have not been scheduled. I go back to see my OB Thursday and I’m not leaving until they give me a date

It’s bizarre to me that several people have made comments about your c section being “early”. I automatically assumed you had a medical issue! Only reason you’d be scheduled this early obviously! Anyways, I wouldn’t say this is standard. I would just call the hospital and see if you can get it straightened out tomorrow!

I was told they can't schedule anything earlier than 39 weeks. Now if it was an emergency  and you needed to be induced that same day then thara different story. Idk if some states are different though but I couldn't see them scheduling you at 36 weeks and all is fine allowing you to keep coming in for appointments. Maybe there was a misunderstanding

It all depends, depends on the hospital and the urgency.  My first scheduled section with my twins was done at exactly 37 weeks this was because my child before was over 10lbs and the twins were already 7lb 13.5oz at 37 weeks 🙈🤣 they did not give me a date early on, I had to wait for a phone call when I was being scheduled in.  I got the call on the Friday and then was in on the Tuesday.  It also depends on who else is needing to be scheduled and how much a priority they are in comparison.  This planned section I’m booked in for 39 weeks and I’ve had the date since I was 22 weeks but this could be cancelled and rescheduled on the day again depending on if they have any emergencies that day. Tht seems extremely earlier. I’m having my second c section no earlier than 39 weeks unless I go into labor. My doctor told me she usually calls the hospital at 36 weeks to schedule. 
With my first c section baby I was scheduled about two weeks in advance for 39 weeks and 5 days. I ended up going into labor tho and got rushed back

Mine was scheduled at 33 weeks for 39 weeks and 3 days. I also have a toddler I needed to plan around.

I’ve had my c section scheduled for over a month already and I’m only 33 weeks. Mine will only take place at 39w6d.
I’d definitely call your office and say you absolutely need it scheduled so you can plan.

I would honestly push past 37 weeks if you can. They usually schedule them well in advance, it’s weird you wouldn’t know already.
