My husbands nephew shushed my baby

I just got back from a family event. There were more than 25 people there and it was a townhouse. I didn’t expect so many people to be there. I was told it was going to be a small gathering. My daughter is 9 months old and gets over stimulated in loud crowded areas. We are a calm family. Tonight it was pretty loud and over stimulating even for myself. My niece invited her friends over. If I was 21 again I would have been having a blast. My daughter was definitely ready to go so I started to pack her up. My nephew asks to hold her one last time. He’s kind of an odd fellow but has always been good with her. She started crying immediately upon him holding her and he started aggressively SHUSHING her in her face maybe about 4 times until I said something. He shushed me and I packed her and left. He’s 20. I guess I’m just upset I put myself in that situation to begin with. Why did I even let him hold her? Ugh I need to trust my mom instinct more.
