School supplies spending/community use
Been seeing a few tik toks pop up on this topic lately and people have a lot to say in the comments on both sides…what do you think of school supplies lists asking for dozens of glue sticks, pencils, etc. that get dumped into a bin and the kids don’t even get to use what their own parents purchased for them?
As a kid, I had a list but it was our own personal stuff. The only things asked for the classroom’s use were tissues and paper towels.
Lots of arguing saying teachers end up buying a lot with their own money which is TOTALLY wrong! But at the same time, we’re expecting parents to buy a ton of extra stuff with their own money? Definitely a huge issue with school district spending in my opinion, teachers shouldn’t be responsible for all the supplies but neither should the parents that already pay school taxes. Thoughts?
