Cocktails for beginners?

I'm 26 and never been much of a drinker. I may have like 2 drinks a year, at most. Usually it would be an angry orchard or one of the 2 wines I have found that I like (french lick white or a peach one). I have no clue what I'm doing lol

I was at a wedding earlier and really wanted to get a drink from the bar, but had no clue what to order, didn't want to look like an idiot, and didn't want to order something and end up not liking it.

I would like to drink a bit more at social gatherings like this because I have really bad social anxiety and think a drink or two might help me relax a little. I didn't know anyone at this wedding other than my husband, so I was so uncomfortable. He doesn't drink at all, so he wouldn't have been any help with ordering.

I was thinking of buying some ingredients to try some cocktails at home to see if I like them, and then I'll know what to order when I need to. That way I can have 1 or 2 go-to cocktails that I can rely on.

Looking for cocktails that are super easy to make at home and something I can order no matter where I am, whether it's a big bar at a restaurant or a little bar at a wedding.
