Missed period…no BFP…cervical mucus ?

Question

So my period is 3 days late… I have taken a test (cheap strips you buy online) it came back negative this morning… 
I’ve checked my cervix and it feels high..
My cervical mucus is egg white texture with cloudly colouring and clear colouring
My question is… what is cervical mucus like when early stages of pregnancy and what is cervical mucus like day before a period… 
Could it be I’ve tested too early or am I just being too hopeful

I tracked my ovulation with ovulation strips and this app… so I have already ovulated this month… however I’m guessing this could be a second ovulation 🤷‍♀️

If period is late with negative pregnancy tests it’s usually due to late ovulation or no ovulation. The later you ovulate the later your cycle will be. How did you track and confirm ovulation? As for cervical position, it is best not to check cervix due to increased risk of infections, trauma, etc. Cervical mucus does not determine pregnancy, all cervical mucus tells you is if it is fertile or non fertile mucus. You can have any type or amount at any point in your cycle.
