In general I'm very satisfied with glow, but stumbled across this disturbing research done by Mozilla on tracking apps. 
What are your thoughts?

So I have a completely different perspective here. 
First, I can not tell you how many times people do not read the fine print or do their research. So many people just agree to terms and conditions without due diligence and for that, I blame the user. They held the opportunity to be informed and neglected to do so. It's also a user who chooses to sync accounts or share to other platforms. This then intertwines the accounts allowing a lot of that sharing, parsing and pulling to occur. Even if it is unknowingly.
Second, there is a thing called the Patriot Act. This does allow agencies to contact different platforms (most commonly your internet service provider, or ISP) to gain information without a warrant. Almost every web based application will have something in their terms and conditions about good faith. It's not ideal under any circumstances, however, in this new digital world it is the reality (however harsh that may be). 
Having said all of that, I don't agree with information sharing without user consent but also recognize that obtaining that at every beck and call would be pretty much impossible. Hence why it's all listed in the user conditions. They're also one of the many applications to fail to implement proper mitigation tactics to safeguard information. 
Now, I do not share anything on here that I'm not comfortable with the world knowing. This account also isn't linked to my name. I do not have a Facebook and keep my other social media platforms light enough to keep the account (in which I rarely use them). 
A thing to keep in mind about the internet: it's the INTERNET. Nothing you do on here is private. These people are in the business of making money, even if it is at the expense of your information (that you AGREE to share and willingly do so). 
Also, any connection you make to any network can be monitored at anytime. Most of us carry the biggest form of tracking in the world- a smartphone. And none of us bat an eye.
