i just need advice

my boyfriend is a gamer. he has an internship for I.T. so he’s on the computer a lot. aside from his job… still a lot. i’ve tried to talk to him about it but i never know the right words to say. i’m not a confrontational person. even with my closest family and friends. much less my boyfriend.

we’ve been together for almost three years. i know i can talk to him about anything but from my past relationships, i am scared bringing up anything that bothers me will make him leave or get upset with me.

the gaming really is annoying at times. say i’m trying to sleep for work or school the next morning. i tell him i’m going to sleep and i get startled awake by yelling or banging on his desk. also the bright lights of his computer and tv screen. i end up having to stay awake until he comes to bed. and that’s even if he chooses to.

he really is good to me. but the gaming is a big problem and i’m not sure what exactly to do about it.
