Scans

Ma
Marisa

I'm pregnant with my 4th child. This will be my 4th baby in 4 yrs.

I haven't had time to exercise as much as I would like and have put on weight after each baby- not so much during pregnancy but mainly while breastfeeding.

I'm only 8 weeks and so far have had an internal scan. I'm a bit worried that with the belly scan that the sonographer will struggle to see the baby as my stomach is pretty big now- I also developed the dreaded overhang belly while pregnant with my 1st.

Has anyone else had issues with scans?

Ps I always exercise during pregnancies. I make sure I do 2hrs fast walking 4 times a week and do pregnancy safe weight training. I've never had high blood pressure, gestational diabetes etc- even though I am currently a size 24 UK

Also overweight with both pregnancies. They definitely push harder on the scan, especially your 12 weeker but as baby grows not so much. My 12 week scans are always quite fussy too.

I've never had any issues with the scans although sometimes they do push a but harder. Usually it's nothing bad though, and I alwsys tell them push as much as they need to. I also kinda help hold my belly up so they can get lower to see baby. :)

I had a big belly before being pregnant and they have never had an issue scanning me… it should be fine.
