Can I eat poopy seeds around my due date?

I heard they can show up as a drug or something in the hospital. I know with further testing they can determine it was just poppy seeds but I really want some of my moms homemade poppyseed rolls and she’ll be in town soon. I just wonder if it really is an issue?

Totally fine! You would have to eat an insane amount of poppy seeds for it to show up on a test. You won't have any problems.

I had a huge lemon poppyseed muffin from one of my favorite muffin places before I went to the hospital when I was in labor with my first. Nobody ever told me to avoid poppyseeds and I didn’t know about the potential for a positive drug test until years later. Nobody ever mentioned anything to me at the hospital and we had our son, took him home, and life went on like normal.

My state every singly hospital drug tests mom and baby, the practices also drug test you throughout your pregnancy, majority of other states hospitals and practices do aswell.
