Hypothyroidism and breast feeding
OK so this might be a long read. I'm only 10 weeks pregnant (at 37 years old) right now with my 3rd and final nugget. At 17 I was placed on synthroid and it was working wonders. 19 got married, lost my insurance and got pregnant. Doctors refused to put me back on synthroid "because your to young to have hypothyroid". I wanted to breastfeed my children but when it came time to deliver and in the weeks after, I literally had no supply. Got pregnant at 32, same situation. Keep in mind that I've been after Dr's to check me since the first one. Delivered at 32 and same thing, never made more than an ounce a day after constant round the clock nursing and pumping. So here I am at 37, I legit told the Dr's I wasn't leaving the office till I got bloodwork. The symptoms I was having were pretty extreme. I could sleep all night, wake up for an hour go back for a 3 hour nap, wake up long enough to make dinner and was in bed by 7. The frequency/ strength of the migraines were becoming unbearable. And I tested at a 7.98 tsh, t3 was barely there so they finally started me on synthroid again! Finally! So I've been doing a load of research, and I'm finally feeling a if I have a real chance! Fenugreek is not my friend lol and I plan on buying up everything that legendairy milk has to offer lol. I have loads of fenugreek free lactation goodie recipes, so on and so forth. I'm hoping and praying I finally get my chance!!!
