Nightshift or dayshift?

Hi! So I’m due in October with my first baby so of course I’m trying to get everything lined out. I’m currently a nurse at a hospital and do 12 hour night shifts. I’m trying to figure out what works better with babies. I’m trying to decide if it would be better to go to days when I come back from maternity or if nightshift would work better.

I prefer nights. My husband and I see each other in passing in the morning and evening but it means one of us is always home with the kids. I don't get as much sleep as I'd like. It's worth it to me because i get to see my babies more than I would on days. They're only awake 4 out of my 12 hour shift.

I couldn’t do nights anymore once I had kids. I was always tired and felt like I missed out on too much and honestly I got worse separation anxiety at night than I did during the day
