Any tips for parallel parking?

If anyone has struggled with it, what are tips that helped you finally get it down? I’ve practiced, sometimes I’d get it but most times I don’t. But it’s on the road test in my state.

Is there a city area near you? I learned how to parallel park in like two days after working in the city.

In my country we have a driving test field where all sorts of parking reversing up the hill down the hill can be practiced. 
There i learned to paralell parking with poles. There are youtube videos abt it - try setting up poles and practice!
