Rabies??

Question

Okay so I was walking with a friend and seen a dead rat, I didn’t step on it or anything it just was on the walkway so I walked on the other side of the walkway. Can dead rats transmit rabies?? It had flies on it and then when I tried to walk past the flies flew away but I’m scared what if something touched my ankle or something ??

You’re fine. That’s not how rabies is transmitted anyway and there has never been a case of a rat transmitting to humans, even with an actual bite.
