My Cosplay Makeup Challenge: Make my face look cute (not sexy) with makeup.

Ecclesia

Growing up I didn't have much and lost quite a lot along the way. My mother passed away when I was 11 (abrreviated version), we were very poor, and religious, no sleepovers, few friends, the works. In addition to that, I am very dark skinned. Needless to say I didn't get to experiment with makeup much until present day. Now the thing that got me into makeup is my favorite feature on the face: eyes 🤩. Eyes and a challenge. 😏. Recently, I have had a lot more free time and I have, for years, been intrigued my makeup that emphasizes looking cute. The formula seems to be flatter face, big, doughy eyes, recessed nose bridge, small lips (don't come for me black people, i dont hate my full lips, I actually really love them.) Of those features I only have big eyes. Here's the challenge I've been trying to figure out as I navigate the world of makeup. No hate plz, I'm not good at this yet. Teasing, however is always welcome 😁

THE CHALLENGE: Make a face with stronger features look cute maybe youthful

THE INTENTION: I want to cosplay a black anime-inspired character. I also think this will be hard so I'm even more intrigued.

THE FACE: (dramatic reveal annnnnd *opens curtains to reveal*)

This is my 2nd attenpt. On the first I tried doing the blush on the cheecks n nose thing (😮‍💨 girl.) I have only looked into Korean and Chinese style makeup. I've seen a couple of black young women do these Asian-inspired looks and they looked so cute. But they had rounder faces and softer features than I do.

Now if this isn't possible for my face, that's okay, but the fun is in the attempt 😁.

I'll try to add my first attempt photos in a comment below. For some reason Glow couldn't access them here.

My 3rd attempt, I just used eyeline and foundation. Can you tell that Idk what I'm doing? But I'm in there. 😏 We're gonna make something work. Eventually.
