Breastfeeding with Nipple thrush

Lib

How do you cope when you have nipple thrush and baby has mouth thrush with exclusively breastfeeding?

We have treatment after 4 days of suffering. So have to wait a few days for it to kick in.

But breastfeeding is actually impossible right now, my nearly 2 week old was going on the breast 5/15 minuets a time when having thrush (every hour or two) for the first 3 days.

But since yesterday, I can barely get a minute of her latching fully. She can't get herself to latch, I assist her but she will suck a few times then unlatch. She also does this grinding motion as her sucking which she's never done and it is pure agony and my nipples burn and throb so much I honestly have to stop trying to breastfeed.

I try for a good 20 minuets of getting her on the breast and will keep giving her drops of milk in that time from the boob but then I have to pump the rest out.

Has anyone had this problem? How did you cope? What was your way of managed to EBF with the extreme pain and LO not latching?

Did anyone result to bottle feeding breast milk till it was all cleared up? How was going back to EBF after?

I don't want to give up on BF so my only option right now is to offer the boob first but if it's agony to pump and give through bottle. I have only given bottles since last night.

I also have to manage my 13mo as well so trying to make things easier on us all.

I already tried nipple Shields but I can't work with them due to having larger nipples 🤦🏼‍♀️ I wash my boobs before with warm water and a gentle soap and cold water afterwards. I air out my boobs after a feed before washing them. I use cold packs. I use nipple cream(but now have the treatment for the thrush instead)
