I live in my grandmother’s house and she just passed away tonight. She owed a lot of debt so I was warned that her house will be taken a sold to pay it off. My grandmother owned a few things here but almost everything in this house is mine. Are they going to try to take my belongings as well? Or am I allowed to take what is mine?

It won't happen immediately. Pack all of your belongings and get them out ASAP. Most likely the bank will only take the house. They can't take anything that you personally own.

If you live there then they have to provide you enough time to find a new place to live. In the mean time, go through and pack up all of your things. If it's valuable, pack it all together along with proof of purchase and ownership as you may need to prove that it is yours and you're not trying to "steal" it to sell later yourself. Once you're out with your property, they will likely hold an estate sale to sell everything else inside the home, and then sell the home in order to cover her debts.

Find out if she had any policies that be used to pay off the debt (investment, insurance, etc). Otherwise yes, the debt will go to the estate and the house will likely be sold to cover the debt but they shouldn't take your things. Maybe start compiling receipts/ proof of purchases in case.
