Can a cervical check cause labor ??

Having a lot of pressure in my butt area about 4 hours after a cervix check. 36+6 
Is this normal?
Edit— Only 1cm dilated & she said something about being pretty high up. So don’t think it would do much but just wondering!!!

How dilated were you? It can cause cramping. But my sister was 4 cm dilated at 36 weeks and when her doctor checked her it put her into labor.

Bum pressure is what I had a few hours before I delivered. Maybe a good thing to get checked. I wasn’t in any real pain just pressure and spaced contractions. Goodluck
