Sugar? 😓😓😓

Question

My 1 hour glucose test came bad and My 3 hour glucose test came abnormal not good as well 😥
Doctor sent metformin and as well as sugar machine .. 
Any advice on what to eat and what to avoid? Any experience? Please ?

I bought the book “Real Food for Gestational Diabetes” and it is a wealth of knowledge on diet!  
I am currently eating a “soft” keto diet. The reason I say “soft” is because I am eating starchy veggies as well as berries. But I have eliminated all processed foods and processed carbs. 
I have kept my daily glucose numbers waaaaay down, like in the 90’s… but unfortunately my fasting glucose (right when I wake up) always spikes to 110ish. The doctor said I have been doing great with my diet and I am able to control my glucose for most of the day. But since my fasting glucose is so high I will be starting Metformin to only take at night. She said to stick with the diet and keep it up because it’s helping, but my placenta is still overriding my hard work (at night). 😤 
 
So when it comes to diet make sure to increase your protein and fat intake. I am having an avocado every day and making sure I have protein and fat with every meal
